E-KYC Mandatory for Ration Card Holders; ‘Mera KYC App’ Enables Completion from Home

In Pauri Garhwal district, it has been made mandatory, as per government instructions, for all ration card holders to complete 100% e-KYC for every ration card and every member/unit listed in it. To make this process simple and convenient, the Government of India has launched the Mera KYC App, through which consumers can complete the e-KYC process from home.
District Supply Officer Arun Kumar Verma stated that for e-KYC, every member listed in the ration card must have an Aadhaar card. Additionally, an active mobile number linked with the Aadhaar card is mandatory, as an OTP will be sent to that number during the verification process. For face authentication, the smartphone camera should be of good quality and internet connectivity must also function properly.
He further stated that consumers facing difficulties in completing e-KYC through the mobile app can visit their nearest fair price shop along with their ration card, Aadhaar card, and mobile number to complete the process.
To complete e-KYC through the Mera KYC App, users must first download and install the app from the Google Play Store or App Store. After this, it is also necessary to download the Aadhaar Face RD app. After logging into the app, users must select Uttarakhand under “Select State” and click on “Verify Location.”
After this, the consumer must enter the 12-digit Aadhaar number. Once the OTP received on the Aadhaar-linked mobile number is entered, the related information will appear on the screen. Then, by clicking on the “Face KYC” option, the phone camera will turn on, and the user must keep their face at an equal distance and blink their eyes for authentication. After successful completion, the message “e-KYC Successful” will appear on the screen.
The District Supply Officer has appealed to all ration card holders in the district to ensure that the e-KYC of their ration cards and all family members is completed as soon as possible so that benefits provided under the Public Distribution System continue without interruption.
